So... What is it?

A "Play in a Box" is a kit including everything necessary in order to make a play. Essentially, it is a learning experience that brings English Language Arts to life through performance and storytelling. Each box includes copies of an original script, prop and set pieces, and a complete guidebook for teachers to execute the play with their students.

Educational Impact

Each play is centered around a learning experience. Through reading scripts and exploring characters, students can practice reading comprehension, build vocabulary, and strengthen their ELA skills. Plays also create an opportunity to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy while exploring important social topics like bullying and inclusion.

How do you use it?

The "Play in a Box" is designed to be user-friendly for teachers, regardless of their theater experience. Each box comes with a directors guidebook which includes blocking, session rehearsal ideas, games to play, and other tips and tricks. Teachers can guide students through reading, discussing, rehearsing, and performing the play. Along the way, students engage with language, explore meaningful themes, and learn through active participation.
